Greg
Wolfond
Founder and CEO of Blue Sky Capital. Greg’s expertise and
entrepreneurial skills are deeply rooted as the founder of Footprint
Software Inc., a financial software company which he started in
1983 and later sold to IBM in 1995. Greg was also the founder and
CEO of 724 Solutions Inc. from 1997 to 2001, a wireless software
infrastructure provider which he took public in 2000.
Greg sits on the board of the Ontario Cancer Biomarker Network (OCBN),
NoNo Inc. specializing in post stroke neuroprotection and YYZ Pharmatech
which develops tools, targets and biomarkers for pharma.
Greg holds the 1994 award for Canada’s Best Managed Private
Company for Footprint Software, the 1995 award for Canada’s
top 40 under 40, 1995 Finalist Entrepreneur of the Year and in 2000
was awarded the Entrepreneur of the Year.
Greg holds a Bachelor of Arts in Computer Science from the University
of Western Ontario, Deans List and is currently in his 3rd year,
Double Major, Biochemistry and Life Sciences at the University of
Toronto.
Jaime Shapiro
Jaime joined Blue Sky as President in 2002, bringing nearly a decade
of valuable experience in strategy development, private equity investing
and corporate finance. Jaime is active in all aspects of Blue Sky's
investment activity including sourcing and evaluating opportunities,
negotiating terms and providing ongoing strategic and operational
support to investee companies.
Jaime's previous roles include VP Corporate Development for wireless
software provider 724 Solutions Inc., where he led the firm's M&A
and equity investment functions, and consulting to leading banks
and insurance companies as a member of A.T. Kearney's NYC-based
Financial Institutions Group.
Jaime graduated cum laude with a Bachelor of Arts in Applied
Mathematics from Harvard University. He also holds an MBA
from The Wharton School at the University of Pennsylvania, where
he was recognized as a Palmer Scholar for graduating in the
top 5% of his class.
